Québec Wushu Tournament
Chan Wu Athlete Team`s Abdou Yousri and Chan Wu Lvl 3 junior assistant Simon Doiron-Ducharme particpated to Québec Wushu's event held last Sautrday April 30th.
Abdou outclassed his categorie and Simon finished 3rd doing Tong Bei Quan showing solid traditional Shaolin Gong Fu in a Wushu Tournament.

CONGRATS TO OUR AHTLETE FIGHTER ABDOU YOUSRI!
Chan Wu Fight Team`s Abdou Yousri captured a WIN in approximately 1:30sec of the 2nd ROUND on April 17, 2011 at the Super Gala de Kick-Boxing in Deux Montagnes.
The stoppage came after his opponent, Sean Dixon, endured punishment to the body and viscious head kicks. His corner threw in the towel. There was a 10 pound weight difference which favoured the fighter from Toronto`s Extreme Kickboxing which in the end didn`t seem to make a diference.
We are proud to announce that Jiaolian Nas has returned from Scotland with 2 World Titles..... Full Contact World Champion and Muay Thai World Champion. Congrats Nas we are very proud!

La Chine... quel beau pays. Tants de differences culturelles et d'habitudes. Deux mois dans ce pays changeraient probablement le coeur des personnes y allant.
Je suis parti dans ce merveilleux pays pour parfaire mon Gong Fu. A l'interieur de ces deux mois, je suis alle m'entrainer un mois et demi a l'ecole de la federation Chan Wu au Sud de la Chine, dans la province de Guangdong. Certes, le Gong Fu la-bas n'est guere vue comme un passe-temps comme la plupart des ecoles en Occident, mais plutot comme un style de vie. Trois entrainements martiaux additionnnnes de deux cours de langue chinoise par jours.
Ce voyage m'a permis de realiser l'enorme potentiel que tout etre humain possede et a quel point la plupart d'entre nous ne l'utilise pas pleinnement.
Au moment meme ou j'ecris se commentaire sur mon voyage, la Chine me manque terriblement et cela ne fait que 6 jours que j'y suis revenu. J'ai vu une enorme amelioration de mon Gong Fu et de ma sante mentale suite a ce voyage.
Je recommande cette experience a tous ceux qui aimeraient travailler d'avantage leur personne et a tous ceux qui aimeraient aussi d'avantage se connaitre.

Chan Wu Fighters = 2010 WKA National Kickboxing Champions
Songshan Chan Wu fighters showed the difference that quality training can make at the 2010 WKA National Team Selection held in Brossard from June 18-20. 3 fighters from Songshan Chan Wu qualified for the world championships which are to be held in Scotland this coming October. The winners were:
Nas Zemmal: Golds in the -85kg Full Contact (by K.O.) and Thai divisions
Samir Yannick Hallouly: Silver in the -65kg Thai division. The final was incredibly close and hard fought by both fighters. (Samir is also the current ICWF -60kg Sanshou champion.)
Anne-Laure Bouvier: (Savate World Student) Bronze in the -65 kg women's Full Contact as well as Gold in the -60kg Thai division (by K.O).
The top three of each division qualified for the World Championships.
Congrats to the team!
3 fighters, 5 medals, one happy coach.

Annoucement
Songshan Chan Wu Canada is proud to announce that Level 3 student Simon Doiron Ducharme will be training in China this summer at the Chan Wu Center based in Guangzhou, China. This center serves as the Chan Wu HQ for southern China, and has a top team of masters there to promote and teach martial arts and Chinese culture. Simon will be joining the full time group of disciples there for a period of 6 weeks. After being recommended by Max Rendinella, Grandmaster Shi Xing Hong made sure that almost 50% of his cost for the 6 week stay be met by the Chan Wu Center's administration.
Congratulations! We wish Simon a great 6 week journey, may this be an unforgettable life experience and we sincerely hope you get the most out of it!
In addition to the Chan Wu Center, we can also arrange for our students to train at our Northern HQ; Fa Wang Si(Temple), which is located beside Shaolin or also at Wushu Guan, just steps from Shaolin. The head Masters of these two places are Chan Wu representatives for us at the moment in Dengfeng. Our Grandmaster Shi De Yang's school in Dengfeng is also open to us internally...soon 3 more Chan Wu schools will be set up in Dengfeng...Amituofo, journey on!

Master Szabi Ambruzs, 33rd generation Shaolin disciple from Hungary, will be a guest at our school during the 1st week of May.
This Master in Shaolin, Iron Shirt Qi Gong & 4 time Sanda champion will teach the classes regularly scheduled at the Academy as well as additional weapons and fighters training sessions. Open to all...don't hesitate to call or write us for more information!

Shi De Yang presents certificate of leadership in Canada...
At the 2nd Chan Wu International Championships, Grandmaster Shi De Yang presented school master Max Rendinella with a certificate of leadership in Canada for Chan Wu development and recognizing him as the Official Chan Wu school for the country. The International Chan Wu Federation recognizes his efforts since it's debut in 2003 in rewarding him with this honor and continues to entrust him with the on going development to spread proper Shaolin Gong fu training and Chan cultivation at his Montreal based school.
